ABOUT US:

100.7 The Island is a not-for-profit emergency broadcast community Radio Station based out of Little Current, Manitoulin Island.  Our broadcast range currently is from just east of Sault Ste. Marie east to Point Au Baril, all of Manitoulin Island and the tip of the Bruce Peninsula.  One of our mandates is to stay on the air during our often frequent power outages, one of the only stations on all of Manitoulin Island that does.  We have a close working relationship with our local OPP station as well as Ontario Hydro.

As you may be aware, Manitoulin Country Fest I and II were great successes!  We are moving towards Manitoulin Country Fest III on August 7th and 8th, 2009.  This year’s two-day event will bring the addition of one more artist for a total of nine great ALL CANADIAN country artists to Little Current, Manitoulin Island.  We will be limiting our ticket sales to 7,000 this year to allow for a more intimate venue and an opportunity for virtually everyone to get a chance to meet their favourite artists!  The main stage will see the likes of great Canadian talent including Michelle Wright, multi-CCMA winners Doc Walker, legendary Carroll Baker on her retirement tour and CCMA male vocalist of the year Johnny Reid.

2008 saw people travel from Washington State, USA, north of Thunder Bay to Tomogami to Niagara Falls and Montreal as well as a 40 boat rendevous from Michigan.  We are proud to say tickets went on sale at Country Fest II and have been brisk ever since.

THE FUNDS:

The profits generated from this event will be used for a variety of reasons.  Firstly, we work closely with our local service organizations to create opportunities for them to fundraise outside of the box.  Secondly, we look at our local area to determine where the most urgent need appears.  For example, our local nursing home to purchase much needed equipment, our local Food Bank to help with food shortages, etc.  Lastly, we select a charity of choice that will be the recipient of a donation.  We pride ourselves in our involvement with our community – we truly believe in giving back!

SPONSORSHIP:

The key to sponsorship of course, is exposure.  The radio spots can be scheduled when you desire thereby designed to specifically target your needs.  As indicated previously, our broadcast range is just east of Sault Ste. Marie towards Point au Baril and all of Manitoulin Island.  We also have an extensive base of on-line listeners.  Additionally, you will be at the forefront of those in attendance as well as the country artists, many volunteers and vendors participating in the event.  The exposure created at the venue itself, together with print media and radio advertising will be invaluable.

We were fortunate in 2008 to work with a great group of people at CTV as well as CMT (Country Music Television).  Both afforded us great regional and national exposure showcasing Manitoulin and Manitoulin Country Fest!

WE ARE PROUD TO BRING BACK THE LED VIDEO SCREEN.  2009 will see a 12’ x 15’ LED video screen form the backstage allowing that up close and personal effect from far away.  Your business could be front and centre before a captive audience with commercials to run on the screens pre-show and in between acts.  You will see with Plantinum and Gold Sponsorship, commercial opportunities form part of the sponsorship packages.  Alternatively, we are offering you an amazing offer of $750.00 for 10 spots up to 1 minute in length (produced by you).  Your commercials can run with or without audio and could even be in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.  This is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to maximize your advertising dollars.

We would like to take this time to thank you for your consideration.  We hope you seriously consider our proposal and look forward to working with you on MANITOULIN COUNTRY FEST III as we strongly feel this would be a great venue for your company and its presence on Manitoulin, the North Shore and well beyond.
