JOHNNY REID - 2008 Male Artist of the Year

Canada’s reigning Male Vocalist of the Year will be returning to Ontario to join us at Manitoulin Country Fest. Johnny, originally from Scotland, immigrated to Toronto as a young lad finding his way to music in his late teenage years. Johnny now makes his home in Nashville but still feels very Canadian at heart. His powerful performance will be sure to knock your socks off. Manitoulin Country Fest is proud to present the top selling Canadian artist in 2008 – Johnny Reid.

Michelle brings years of experience to the stage in a performance that is sure to leave you wanting more. She has entertained hundreds of thousands of people since winning her first CCMA Female Vocalist of the Year award in 1990 to her first SOCAN songwriting award for Surrender in 2001 to entertaining the Canadian forces in Afghanistan in 2006. Michelle, originally from Ontario, now makes her home in Nashville.

Doc Walker is still riding high after taking home five CCMA awards in Winnipeg in every category they were nominated in: Fans' Choice; Group of The Year; Album of The Year (Beautiful Life); Single of The Year (Beautiful Life) and Video of The Year (Beautiful Life). Manitoulin Country Fest is excited to have Chris Thorsteinson, Dave Wasyliw and Murray Pulver – Doc Walker grace our stage. The guys hail from Portage La Prairie, just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba.

CARROLL BAKER

The legendary Carroll Baker is returning to Manitoulin Country Fest – and we couldn’t be happier! Carroll, in her Thanks for the Memories retirement tour will take fans down memory lane of decades of entertaining. Carroll, as always, will entertain the crowds, both young and old. Don’t be surprised to see Carroll kick off her shoes and keep you on the edge of your seats from start to finish. Welcome back Carroll!

CRYSTAL SHAWANDA

Manitoulin Country Fest could not be more proud than to welcome Crystal Shawanda home. Born and raised just down the road in Wikwemikong, Crystal has become an international superstar – no big surprise to anyone from Manitoulin! Crystal has been making her way in the country music scene for many years and all of Manitoulin is proud to call her one of our own. Welcome home Crystal and thanks for being part of Manitoulin Country Fest.
